Iceland is a magical place. This painting is inspired by an actual photo of an Icelandic beach taken by my friend and great photographer Vin Singh. The colours are real but also surreal! I used the surreal feeling to interpose a Group of Seven inspired iceberg at the bottom right but played with the size. Is it a small iceberg melting on the sand or is it a large iceberg out at sea? It's up to you to see it as you wish.
This painting is oil on a wood panel, 24"x30" with a black floating frame. I gave it a resin finish to enhance the deepness of the colours but then I "buffed" and finished it with cold wax in a proprietary process I have developed over the years. This gives the painting a unique satin, non reflective appearance
